Program Overview We offer experiences in STEAM, literacy, social studies, civic responsibility, physical education, health, and wellness. Enrichment programs in music, dance, art, cooking, sports, and games further enhance learning. We emphasize play, inquiry, and exploration, supported by nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness. Our secure building and innovative child-management app provide peace of mind, ensuring every child is accounted for at all times.

Daily Adventures at Beacons’ Early Learning Haven

At Beacons' Early Learning Haven, every day is filled with exciting activities and enriching experiences designed to nurture young minds and bodies. Our thoughtfully planned daily schedule ensures a perfect balance of learning, play, and growth, providing a holistic approach to early childhood education. Here's a glimpse into the engaging routines that make up a typical day at our center.

Arrival, Checks, Handwashing and Free Play

Morning Yoga/Mindfulness: Start the day with gentle stretches and breathing exercises with Stormi Carpenter.

Small Group Activities:

  • Plan-Work-Cleanup-Recall Sessions: Simple planning, working, cleaning up, and recalling activities to build routine and memory.
  • Sensory Play: Explore textures, shapes, and sounds with the STEM stars, Sam and Olivia, and our artsy maestro, Sergio.
  • STEM and Writing Activities: Engaging in basic science, technology, engineering, math projects, and early literacy exercises.

Snack Time (AM): A nutritious morning snack to fuel their bodies and minds.

Large Group Activities:

  • Storytime/Literacy Time: Interactive storytelling and learning the Word of the Week in English, French, and sign language with Ollie O’Learn and Binta Lang.
  • Music and Movement: Dance and physical exercises with Wally the Walrus.
  • French Lessons: Fun and interactive lessons three times a week with Binta Lang.
  • Sign Language: Engaging sessions twice a week with Binta Lang.
  • Functional Life Skills (FLS): Learning basic skills like tidying up, cleaning spills, hand-washing, and simple dressing twice a week with Stormi Carpenter.

Lunch: A healthy and balanced meal to recharge for the afternoon.

Nap Time: A restful nap to rejuvenate and prepare for more learning and fun.

Afternoon Activities:

  • Continue with Small Group Activities and Large Group Activities as listed above.
  • Outdoor Play: Physical activities and exploration with Wally, Luca, and Reina.

Snack Time (PM): A nutritious afternoon snack to keep them energized.

Bringing Our Values to Life

At Beacons’ Early Learning Haven, our program elements are carefully designed to align with our core goals and values, supporting the holistic development of children, fostering a love for lifelong learning, and promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.

Led by Leon Beacon, who embodies all our values, we prioritize each child’s interests and developmental needs. Through active learning and participation, Leon encourages engagement, motivation, and deeper learning.
Child-Centered Learning
With Ollie O’Learn and Binta Lang guiding literacy and language activities, we nurture the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of every child. Our structured routines develop critical thinking, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
Holistic Development
Artful Sergio and his enrichment team, Joey and Elodie, inspires creativity through arts projects, fostering curiosity and a love for learning. Our enrichment programs encourage critical thinking and lifelong intellectual and personal growth.
Lifelong Love for Learning
Gentle Gail teaches social skills and etiquette, creating a welcoming environment that celebrates diversity. Collaborating closely with Binta Lang, who introduces multiple languages, we build a respectful and supportive community.
Community and Inclusivity
Co-represented by Stormi Carpenter and Dave Dove, we prioritize nutritious menus, daily physical exercise, and mental health activities like yoga and mindfulness, ensuring children's physical and emotional well-being.
Wellness and Wellbeing
We use the Brightwheel App to keep parents informed with real-time updates on their child's activities, meals, and developmental milestones. Represented by Ravi Sameer, we also foster strong partnerships between educators and families through various communication methods, ensuring everyone feels welcome and connected.
Family Engagement
Reina and Luca Green-Carpenter lead nature studies and outdoor activities, teaching sustainable practices and instilling a love for the environment.
Environmental Stewardship
Ella and Zain emphasize safety practices and routines, providing peace of mind for families and promoting a secure learning environment where children can explore confidently.
Safety and Security
Wally the Walrus supports active play and social activities in our Brilliant Beyond-School Program, enhancing academic skills, fostering responsibility, and strengthening community ties.
Extended Learning Opportunities
Represented by Stormi Carpenter, our thoughtfully designed learning environments reflect children's interests and developmental stages, encouraging creativity, exploration, and engagement.
